An optics company is born
Founded in Orange, California as a precision lens-assembly manufacturer — optical fabrication work that included assemblies built for NASA.
The OEM years
Major dental brands build on our optics: camera lines including Accucam (Gendex), UltraCAM, ViperCAM, and ImageCAM ship with our engineering inside.
Claris goes direct
We launch the Claris intraoral camera line under our own name — simple plug-and-play USB at a time when competitors still needed capture cards and docking stations.
Clio enters the operatory
The Clio digital X-ray sensor line extends the optics heritage into radiography, refined generation after generation into our most trusted hardware.
SOTA Cloud spins off
The cloud imaging software business becomes its own independent company, leaving the hardware business focused on what it builds best.
Clio Imaging
The hardware business takes a new name of its own — Clio Imaging — carrying the same team, the same standards, and the same product lines forward.
